A few days ago someone mentioned ritual.sh (https://ritual.sh/resources/button-generator/), but I'm not sure if this is what you are asking.

If it’s button makers you’re asking for, there’s this https://hekate2.github.io/buttonmaker/ !

Aw, I don't really mean button generators, but I'll save those! I mean actual button templates. I remember there were a few links in a forum I was in, but I may need to go around asking.

heres this one! https://webbuttonmaker.great-site.net/?i=2 Im not sure what u mean by templates. I assume you can draw over a generated button to make your own? I believe I saw few more, ill post them here when I find them!

@shittymeat999 I actually mean custom button borders, drawn by someone :] I do understand button generators are more common, but I remember there were some sites with some cool templates some people had drawn in pixels. I just can't seem to find those with ease! x']

As another note, I'm currently around places like 32-Bit Cafe, but I'm still on the lookout for others that have the same vein :p

I'm a bit hesitant to join Discord servers since I primarily use the app for IRL friends, but I'll give your server a try!

@tabf5 That's fair... I don't like joining too many servers either, I mostly use it for tech support or being around my friends from the US. It's a very chill place

By leaving, I eventually came to the realization to not being online here anymore, since, like it or not, Neocities is part of my history. I don't want to be like those people that just delete their sites and not even the Wayback Machine can recover. Maybe what I needed was to go after other communities, and it's already doing me a great change

I've been also browsing out and about for cool sites. I always wanted to make button collections separated by categories, since people have so many different genres and vibes I wanted to get a bit of everything. It's being lots of work, but hopefully it'll pay off :]

But yeah, I think this is it. I'm onto new adventures now, and may still send some links tomorrow here.

WOW. Well I'm glad you said goodbye because your page is crazy! I know how it is. I'm a chronic page abandoner myself.

This is how I found out you left Neocities o7 Thanks for leaving your site up, you are amazing at what you do and I hope you find a less stressful place to exist on the web
ninacti0n

@othala Haha, I knew I just couldn't skidaddle like that, let alone with a lot of folks who still enjoy my work. It is something I need to do, but I should be around on other web places! :]

@tabf5 Oh gosh, I'm glad I turned my profile back up on time then... I'd deactivated it to wrap it all up, but knowing how you folks are from different timezones, that's hit or miss. And yeah, I'm working on being on a less stressful webspace - I may rework a blog post I was writing to talk about it.

Oh dang, haven't checked my feed in a few days and I had no idea you were leaving! Glad you're keeping your page up bc your site is so sick. Good luck with whatever endeavors you may embark on in the future!

@plastigon Yee, I figured it would be the best alternative to it. I just realized that it was always a bit sad to go digging after artists once they leave, so I figured I wanted to do the opposite. Thank you so much for all the wishes, and best of luck with your funky site as well <3

It was a very wild journey being here, and while I still like many sites and artists from here, I need to focus on my mental health, my life, and other things. That doesn't mean I'll be abandoning my site endeavors, I'll just be elsewhere... taking care of my stuffs, and running after the spark that brought me so close to web design to begin with.

@corvidoodle Yeah, it really is... but I feel it's something I need to do, like turning a new leaf or starting off a new moment in my artist's path. I'm hoping for the very best

i can tell the community has grown and became more mainstream than what it originally was. i knew someone who was on neocities about when you created your site and i was inspired by him to do the same
ninacti0n

@error-666 In a very odd way, the way some people would yap on status updates nowadays was reminding me a lot of text posts I would see on Bluesky or Twitter. Back then, things felt a lot more casual, I think - just people giving simple updates on their pages, and this whole thing of the community feeling tightly knit and fun. I was inspired by my friend Lu to do it, and it completely changed my mind!

@ninacti0n i've also noticed that. i don't blame you for escaping an environment where it feels like there's pressure to perform or have a "presence". that kind of shit i also cannot stand. i hope you get on a new cool thing that feels like what neocities was for you even if it ends up being pretty different!

very sad to see you leaving the community :( you can still send status updates here still and redirect to your new domain, right? I can assure you turning a new leaf over is a great decision, keep it up bro

@error-666 Yeah, definitely! As someone who's experienced the social media cycle and is beginning to pick up the signs here, I wish to unwind and go towards something simpler. I was thinking about 32-bit cafe, since its aimed at adults who enjoy web designing, but I'm also on the lookout for some other fun forums. I'm already hosting my site on HelioHost, so I'm chill with that

@jiobutler Yeah, I know it's quite sad... but don't see this as a goodbye, it's just me moving to live elsewhere ;] I hope you all keep things fun and silly around here, I was browsing through you folks' pages last night, and I'm amazed with all the different works that made their way into here ^^

i was talking about this with some people on a discord server! i think if you had gifs for each letter, you could make a javascript that places down gifs with some spacing given a string. maybe worth a try

@error-666 Hmm, that does sound interesting! Though part of me feels it would prolly be easier to just animate em in Blender :p

for just old style https://cooltext.com/ https://www.flamingtext.com/ and for 3d effects https://3dtext2gif.com/ https://www.3dgifmaker.com/

Okay, I did find a way! This text animator lets you use many fonts, and has a handful of parameters to pick from- https://www.textstudio.com/text-animator You can then edit it on Ezgif to get the cropping right
