or if you cant find a no-CD crack, you could run an ISO of the uncracked version with safediscloader. i need to write a guide for this but i dont have any computers that i can use to test it on. all the computers in the house run either windows 7 or some linux distro or another.

i like how the github project wiki says "this is not intended for piracy", as if there's another way to get ahold of like 95% of the software safedisc was used in :P

not to mention half the bloody world cant access the shit i put on there because of some ISP level restriction or another. IS THERE even another filehost that lets you embed files like catbox does? something that doesn't need to access 5 different CDNs, 150 different cookies, and 500 cross-platform trackers, and hates AI as much as I do? or do i just need to never post music online ever again?

filegarden's privacy policy is either very well hidden or nonexistent. at this stage i'm going to probably just host all my music on nekoweb, at which point i'll just discontinue the LCI minisite and Tina's Tunes on neocities.

could you go in filegarden's discord server and ask? i could ask it for you if youd like. i know its run by the same person who runs MSPFA (fg was originally developed as an image host for mspfa iirc), just a one-man army doing honest work, though its been a while since i was in either community

To add to the conversation about Filegarden, here's an excerpt from their Discord server's #why-not-use channel: "No terms of service or privacy policy yet, so the site's legal foundation is questionable."

i'm gonna be the asshole and tell you you're right that those thoughts about how 'certain people are incontrovertibly safe' are racist, and also a little stupid about violence / what violence is, but everyone is a little stupid about violence until it reaches them. i actually think you should've gotten to be stupid about it for longer. i'm sorry you were in danger

....i actually think everyone should get to be as stupid as possible about stuff like shootings for as long as possible because a wealth of experience with them isn't something to envy. being sheltered enough to never experience one, on the other hand, is something everyone deserves the privilege of

see i would have thought the whole "nobody is safe in america anymore regardless of their skin colour" bit was the more important takeaway from this post, but whatever totes your goats i guess.

i apologize; that's not what i took away from the post, as it's something i happened to already know. what i took away from the post, instead, was that something really traumatic & awful happened to you and Riza, and it could've been even worse. i'm glad you're both physically okay
also all of the signs ive seen from them have been Neoliberal Sloganslop
@feelingmachine , painfully true :(
assuming for the moment that people were actually protesting the authoritarian dictatorship and not just wanting to be seen with a sign on social media, police and border patrol are going to be using those pictures to identify and arrest or deport protesters regardless.
it feels like a lot of people have yet to recognize the risk they pose to themselves and others with what they share. It's some funky cognitive dissonance. my impression is that some people aren't recognizing the risk because "this couldn't happen here and won't happen to me" is their default until proven otherwise
It's tough when you've reorganized your online habits and discover a lot of your neighbors have zero conception of threat assessment when you there's a very real and present danger of getting disappeared
