omg I'd love to learn how you did it... There are lots of artists I love on tumblr but they mix their own art with their reblogs in one blog, which is fine, but I'd love to put their art tag in an rss feed. Is that what you've done here? 👀👀👀

hahaha ok i can get my rss feed from my tumblr personal tags tho it only spits out 10 posts (cause 10 posts per page), but it's better than nothing. problem is im blanking out so bad on how to show it on my site ... ill ponder it for a bit

god bless https://rss.bloople.net/ for making a JS for spitting out an HTML-d version of a feed. i might figure out a way eventually to host it myself but this works ok for now (i dont have the brain energy to deep dive research rn)

That's exactly what I do with my microblog LOL. I used to post a lot on Twitter, and if I thought something was “relevant,” I'd save it to “Saved Items” and then move it over to my microblog. It's a bit tedious, I'll admit.

Honestly I can see them rolling it back if not from the pushback but from how many things it broke! And with enough people threatening to leave and putting a dent into what money they were earning off of them...yeah. "At least" their tone is clear that they will continue down this path again, just differently

pov watching tumblr lighting itself again on fire by literally making every reblog now the equivalent of a twitter quote tweet (no more shared reblog notes, ppl get their own notes/notifs on reblogs and not OP). hell site (tbf its on fire for many reasons including transphobia but yknow another canister of oil added on top today)

They have addressed the strong reaction from people, so I hope they'll at the very least make it an optional thing the OP of each post can choose to use or not. Better send them feedback through. The more feedback, the more likely they will listen.

it basically ‘builds’ your site for you, and it easier to reuse chunks/templates without having to rewrite entire code portions or using javascript to do it (like my site rn uses javascript to spit out my header/sidebar/footer, 11ty does it for you instead)

it definitely is a bit of a learning curve right now even for me, but it also makes it easier to make pages; i could write a page is just markdown, add a couple doodads like telling 11ty ‘hey can you use my normal site template?’ and it’ll just build and spit the site out with all the proper HTML + your markdown into proper HTML text

i used a huge-ass json file for my characters, but as the count grew theres a huge maintenance overhead and generally doing that decreases flexibility. so i dont super recommend it? (i ended up writing a whole ass custom program for me to edit the json)

but gallery with json is super nice, you can filter & include images and put them anywhere (one gallery.json and one gallery.liquid (or .njk) and you call the include file with any part of the gallery you wish!) ive a blog post on this iirc

HAHA GOOD NEWS figured out a way to squeak in styling and scripts per page basis. its a little weird but you can set up a {{ styles | safe }} portion in the base template like this example: https://github.com/11ty/eleventy/discussions/2506

On second thought, another idea. You don't need to make a page use a layout if you don't want to, so if you just have a regular HTML file with your one-off style and no front matter, 11ty will just copy it over as-is.

huh ... fuckin around with 11ty and its actually not ... too bad...? i managed to recreate my test style i did last night. i still need to figure out how it'd handle minor local CSS stuff (cause some pages i have one-off CSS that i dont use anywhere else so i just put it in a style tag) but i can see the appeal of it for sites

Hmm, for one-off style tags... my first thought is moving each to its own CSS file, then specifying in the front matter of the page if it should pull in a different CSS. Could be better ways, but yeah, kinda tricky.
